Habitat Creation
Where the situation and location allows it’s often a good idea to leave piles of brash or logs in stacks known as eco stacking.
This creates a really good habitat for lots of different species of animals and plants.
Another option is to create standing deadwood or a monolith. This is where a tree that is being removed can be left as a standing stem to rot and decay slowly again creating a home for animals, insects, fungi or even wood peckers and other bird life.
